Description:
This review volume will present the latest progress on the application of terahertz (THz) spectroscopy in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science and Engineering. It will showcase the ever-expanding use of this frequency region in understanding the development of photonic devices in the THz frequencies as well as advances in the emission and detection of THz pulses. This book is intended for Masters, PhD and post-graduate researchers anticipating a career in linear and non-linear spectroscopy and/or in the development of THz devices and techniques.
Contents:
  • Terahertz Index of Refraction Engineering
  • Terahertz Emission Time-Domain Spectroscopy and Luminescence Spectroscopy as Complementary Tools for Photocarrier Dynamics Studies of Semiconductor Nano-, Modulation-doped, Quantum Well, and Quantum Dot Heterostructures
  • Moth-Eye Type Antireflective Structures Fabricated by Femtosecond Laser Processing for Terahertz Frequencies
  • Terahertz Emission from Epitaxially Grown Indium Arsenide Thin Films
  • Terahertz Time-Resolved Studies of Solar Cells
  • Terahertz Spectroscopy in Oil Investigation
Readership: Graduate students and post graduate researchers anticipating a career in linear and non-linear spectroscopy and/or in the development of THz devices and techniques.
Carlito Jr Salonga Ponseca is currently an associate professor at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Science, Gulf University for Science and Technology, Kuwait. Prior to this appointment, he was with the Division of Biomolecular and Organic Electronics, Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM) of Linköping University, Sweden as an assistant professor. He has been utilizing the terahertz (THz) frequencies since his PhD years in Japan two decades ago. This includes designing THz waveguides, using it for molecular vibrational spectroscopy, and recently investigating ultrafast photo physical processes in different emerging photovoltaic materials. His present research interest is developing THz devices, e.g., antenna, polarizer, and the likes, made from organo-metal solution-processed materials.
